"Mercury" - Altair Kareem & Jadeite Moreno (prod. Jadeite Moreno)
Coming out of the 919–fresh off the release of her mixtape 95 9-5s: Hosted by DJ BANANA PEEL—Carolina rapper Altair Kareem teams up with Texan producer Jadeite Moreno to capture a sound straight out the dirty south. Jadeite Moreno’s brings in a break beat with a groovy baseline to compliment the brain scratching vinyl crackle that comes in and out of the beat every few bars. Altair Kareem flows over the throwback beat spitting about her come up in her home county of Stephen Johnson County learning about her culture and her day to day life heading into her 20s. Altair Kareem & Jadeite Moreno come together to put on for the queer south.
"Mercury" is track 3 off the collab album between Altair Kareem & Jadeite Moreno, Our Universe Inna Palm a Yo Hands. Out now everywhere.
"in my bag" - girlfrompluto (prod. xtrachampi+)
"in my bag" is the final single for the new girlfrompluto mixtape, captive. This otherworldly dance track sees girlfrompluto flowing between kicks rapping about her psychedelic lifestyle, level of demand, and cutting out of annoying people, all familiar, but welcome topics from girlfrompluto. With this and "2003" setting the tone for captive—released on August, 27th—girlfrompluto prepares us for a bouncy and atmospheric pop experience to close out the Summer.
"in my bag" is track 2 off captive by girlfrompluto. Out now on everywhere.

"XLR8" - MYRID
This is some of the hardest electronic music I've heard in a long time and it's coming from a furry artist. This is not a drill, you have to listen to MYRID.
"XLR8" is available now on Bandcamp and streaming services.

"GIVE ME STRENGTH" - ♥ GOJII ♥
♥ GOJII ♥'s latest single is best demonstrative of their abilities as a producer that grabs from the accessible side of EDM and takes it to a truly emotional level. Clean drums intersperse artful piano refrains and vocal stabs, making for a lovely, calming venture into a world of healing and hope.
"GIVE ME STRENGTH" is available now on Bandcamp and streaming services.
"stupid" - ghostsocial
"stupid" is special for its brevity and conflict, I think. There's a dissonance between the laid-back instrumental and the expressive vocals and lyrics--where one is neat and coordinated, the other is messy and extremely upfront about its personality. It's a surprisingly emotional listen, and ghost's performance sticks with me like not many other vocalists' do.
"stupid" is available now on streaming services.
"tender love" - The Jender Eternal Light Revue
One thing you learn to cherish as you get older is the intimate moments you share with your companions. The Jender Eternal Light Revue understands this, using a spot on their debut record (among others) to strip back instrumentation and sing about the realities of queer romance, furry sex, and spiritual-therianthropic homeliness even amidst relationship turmoil. It is about finding home in the body of a child, a feral animal, a forlorn human, and a helpless soul all at once with the people you have.
"tender love" is available now on Bandcamp and streaming services.

"It's Imperative" - Spring Silver
The last single off of Don't You Think It's Strange?, Spring Silver's excellent new album released earlier this month. The track throws together a grungy riff, a four-on-the-floor disco beat, and lyrics on business networking—it's an unexpected but undeniable combo that shows off their songwriting skills. The chorus adds a dreamy vibe reminding me of Blood Orange, particularly in the woozy, slowed-down final minute of the song.
"It's Imperative" is available on Bandcamp and streaming services.
"shopping" - Emil Kjølhede
A fun remix of the Buy Mode theme from the original 2000 Sims game, made by the Copenhagen-based artist and musician to celebrate the 20th anniversary of The Sims 2 next month. The ideal soundtrack for spending your simoleons on a new table lamp.

"Questions" - lazypines
It's the theme song for our podcast! I've been listening to "Questions" for a while, really enjoying the addition of little synth lines and soft electronic drums to the lazypines sound that I had grown accustomed to off of their last EP. lazypines really starts to stretch their sound here on their latest EP, Daisies.
And I don’t know what to do
But I don’t wanna do it all without you
"Questions" is available now on Bandcamp and streaming services.
"Ghost Stories" - delcarmen
We've covered delcarmen a few times already on this blog and for good reason (he deserves all the praise). The track "Ghost Stories" isn't new, but it's new to me, and has slowly grown to become one of my favorite songs I've heard this year.
"Ghost Stories" is available now on streaming services.
