It's potluck time! Each month, indieAnthro contributors get together to share what they've been listening to lately. Enjoy!

Jay Snow

“Ganymede” - Lazypines

Lazypines’ sound has always felt beautifully grounded: last year’s Daisies conjured natural imagery across earthy, mellow rockers. On “Ganymede”, his latest single, he expands his scope to the stars. Lifted by wonderfully twee cello, the song soars as Myst makes requests born of a love so intense and fulfilling it may never be fully understood by the other person. It sounds confident and jubilant in a way he’s rarely been before.

“Ganymede” is available on Bandcamp and streaming services.

“Pulled Me Up” - iANO

The pattering piano and thin, almost translucent strings that open the lead single for iANO’s latest album Be Again absolutely do not prepare you for the sweeping, surreal drop that follows. Across its seven-minute runtime, “Pulled Me Up” takes you through every possible configuration of its elements: it binds sunny guitar harmonics, light synth arpeggios and mellow vocals into a tapestry of sound so lush it’s hard to not be immediately awed by its sheer beauty.

“Pulled Me Up” is available on Bandcamp and streaming services.

"Coinage" - Cressfenn

In my weekly trawls of the 'furry' tags of Bandcamp, Cressfenn's presence strikes me as bold. 'Coinage' is a messy, analog-sounding mix with extremely loud braindance drums and a synth melody that wavers in between triumphant and melancholic. It scratches a "dirty electronics" itch I've had for a while, a type of electronic music that isn't afraid to get noisy with distorted, fuzzy synths and layers of effects.

"Coinage" is available on Bandcamp.

"GOGCGOHOCECHDHETEDTDT" - Patricia Taxxon

I find myself thinking about the size of it all in comparison to its musical fascination with the present moment. This series takes up almost two gigabytes worth of space on my hard drive, more than some video games, and is longer than some shows I've watched. I've dealt with pieces that take up multiple days worth of time, but never have they been this concretely "microdesigned". Nearly every moment is actively presenting some new fascination, to the point where it often doesn't register that I'm listening to twelve hours of material.

Clementine

“the bug song” - flower.puppy (prod. flower.puppy)

This song is more of an ensemble production if we are being frank—we have a fearless cicada who is accustomed to musical expression who’s enthusiastic verse had sparked an artistic outburst from a nearby crowd of crickets who had overhead—all to be but whimsically narrated by the conductor, flower.puppy. I guess there is nothing wrong with some bugs in a song… so here it is! Bug fans (of any variety) rise up!

“the bug song” is the outro track to the debut EP, outside time by flower.puppy releasing on May 20th, 2025. “the bug song” is out now everywhere.

“laffy taffy” - Vayda (prod. Vayda)

Interpolating & sampling the classic H-Town speaker knocking hit “Laffy Taffy” by D4L, Vayda hits the listener with an emblematic homage to her genre in this interaction of the same name. On this self produced banger she is asserting her bad bitch confidence, blowing off the haters, & relishing in the success of her self-made career. Vayda showcases her elusive nature, always being ahead of the curb musically—sticking to her artistic instincts to form the genre’s future while honoring its past.

“laffy taffy” is track 2 of Put Your Clothes On by Vayda. Out now everywhere.

“Boston Donut” - pjberri (prod. pjberri)

Taking the listener on a groovy odyssey inspired by the sounds of 80s & 90s dance music with a bouncy & atmospheric foundation—reminiscent of the OSTs to the Mother video game franchise. pjberri is a self-produced act embracing nostalgia through catchy melodies & programmed drums. Being the music pseudonym of the prolific internet artist, ZachJaDa, “Boston Donut” is just symbolic & complementary to the relationship he shares between audio & visual mediums. pjberri will also be performing at Kibble Fest: Bloom 2025 🌸 on 4/19/2025!

“Boston Donut” is the outro track to One Four One by pjberri. Out now everywhere.

today, forever - ✩·͙̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥̩̩̥͙ ✩̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥̩̩͙‧͙ ✩ / silk fingers

I got really into today, forever, along with the other ambient records on the areyoudoneyet netlabel. The textures and chordal colours of these songs are just so well done that I felt captivated throughout its 1 hour runtime. Please give these guys some love, they're doing phenomenal drone/noise music that not many people have picked up on.

today, forever is available now on Bandcamp.

Classical Parlor - Trio Menagerie
