Ivory Rasmus’ "need" is a Clever, Compelling Piece of Emo-Pop
Their first release since June’s elegant and understated “memories i can't replace”, “need” switches things up with its darker tone and emo-pop inflections.
Ivory Rasmus’ first release after June’s elegant and understated “memories i can't replace”, “need” switches things up with its darker tone and emo-pop inflections. That also allows more room to expand their writing, the rap verse weightier and more confident in comparison to the anxiety hanging over the rest of the song. “need” is somewhat of an outlier in Rasmus’ discography with its colder sound and , but it’s a welcome addition that reinforces the dynamism of their gorgeous production and unique creative vision.
One of the year’s most delightful releases, “need” is now available to purchase on Ivory Rasmus’ Bandcamp, as well as on streaming services.
