Yo~ It's time for another indieAnthro playlist update! The aim of this article is to highlight recent entries on the playlist. There have been a ton of changes since the last update given that so many releases have come out this summer. We've also recently changed our playlist cover to feature Ashley Ninelives. Check it out!

As always, this list isn't exhaustive, so be sure to check out the playlist for more of the latest furry indie and support these artists directly where/if you can! <3 Spotify streaming payouts are absolute garbage.

"stupid" - ghostsocial [pop, alternative]

ghostsocial is an artist that recently came onto my radar. "stupid" is a chill, catchy little anti-pop tune that slots perfectly into her impressive catalog. Excited to hear what she brings to mutt county, her next EP.

"stupid" is available digitally on streaming platforms. mutt county releases on September 23.

"RUSH!" - GABUISLOST (feat. 2bagBreezoo) [pop, hip hop] **

"RUSH!" has previously been featured on the playlist, and I wanted to show it some more love. This track features one of the catchiest hooks in a GABUISLOST song, along with a guest verse by frequent collaborator 2bagBreezoo. Soaring falsetto and a forward moving yet laidback beat, as fans of GABUISLOST have come to expect.

"RUSH!" is available digitally on streaming platforms as well as direct purchase on Bandcamp.

"brighter day" - Ashley Ninelives [pop, electronic]

The years long wait was absolutely worth it. "brighter day", the penultimate track on A9L's latest record Cheshire Days, pairs glitchy electronic dance beats with earnest lyrics about becoming a kinder, better version of oneself ("I would breathe myself anew /Someone better, more profound / So I could grace your presence with a shade of something kinder / So I could grace your presence with a different shade of blue").

"Brighter Day" is available digitally on streaming platforms as well as for direct purchase on Bandcamp. Check out our review for Cheshire Days here!

"this thought" - snuffles, Frizk [electronic, r&b]

Popular electronic pop furry musicians Frizk and snuffles team up for "this thought", a track that had immediately captured my attention from the teasers shared ahead of the full release. A delightful melding of snuffles' emotional electronic production and Frizk's jazzy chord progressions. Definitely worth checking out.

"this thought" is available digitally on streaming platforms as well as for direct purchase on Bandcamp. You can also check out the music video on YouTube!

"changes" - ida deerz [rock, electronic]

Another huge release I've been anticipating this month. ida deerz' recent release idaidaida ii is a playful, experimental, scattered journey of an album that is pretty hard to draw comparison to anything else. "changes" is a definite highlight on the album. I normally don't add tracks over 5 minutes in length to the playlist, but I had to make an exception here.

"changes" is available digitally on streaming platforms as well as for direct purchase on Bandcamp.

"Dopesick" - emogen33 [hip hop, electronic]

"Dopesick" is probably my favorite track off of the latest emogen33 release Guard Dog Graveyard, with its ghostly vocals and laid back, hazy trap beat.

"Dopesick" is available digitally on streaming platforms as well as for direct purchase on Bandcamp. You can grab a CD of her latest release here. Check out Melissa's coverage of the burgeoning rap scene in the furry community here.

"lights in the sky" - life on the island [rock, alternative]

I first came across the band life on the island when organizing the first trickyStoop Anniversary Compilation (their track "sometimes / forgive me dx" is featured on it). When I came across the announcement for bird worship, their new full length, I immediately checked it out. "lights in the sky", the final track on the album, combines sweet harmonies, twinkly guitar, horns, and bird samples to great effect. A really underrated artist worth checking out!

"lights in the sky" is available on streaming platforms as well as for direct purchase on Bandcamp.

"I Want Out (Mother Superior)" - Stick Crickets [rock, alternative]

"I Want Out (Mother Superior)" is a track off of the 2018 record New Monastic Presence. This track immediately hits you with lo-fi electronic drums before barreling straight into its catchy as hell chorus. Stick Crickets is the solo project of Duster, the lead singer of New England band Them Airs, and fans of the latter should definitely give this a listen.

"I Want Out (Mother Superior)" is available on streaming platforms as well as for direct purchase on Bandcamp.
